Quasillo, Querari sister lines up in Saratoga G1 feature

20th Jul 2017

Talented filly Quidura, a Dubawi half-sister to Cape sires Quasillo and Querari, is one of six fillies and mares carded to contest the G1 Diana Stakes at Saratoga this Saturday.

Querari

A $500 000 contest, the Diana (won previously by champions Forever Toger, Perfect Sting and De La Rose) will be run over 1800m on turf.

Quidura, whose rivals include impressive G1 Longines Just A Game Stakes winner Antonoe (herself a close relative of another Cape sire, Twice Over), was second in the G2 New York Stakes last time out, and previously captured the G3 Pin Oak Valley View Stakes in 2016.

Trained by Graham Motion, Quidura will be ridden in Saturday’s race by Junior Alvarado.

She is one of three graded/group winners produced by the outstanding, stakes winning Acatenango mare Quetena, whose sons Querari and Quasillo’s victories included  the G1 Premio Presidente Della Repubblica GBI Racing and the G3 Bavarian Classic respectively.

Quasillo

Proven sire Querari, whose top offspring include G1 winner Querari Falcon as well as graded winners Cosmic Light, and Kangaroo Jack, will once again hold court at Maine Chance Farms this season, while his half-brother Quasillo (the only son of Sea The Stars at stud in South Africa) will stand his first season in this country at Klipdrif Stud.
