Querari filly impresses on debut

5th March 2022

Maine Chance Farms’ resident stallion Querari came up with another eye catching two-year-old winner on Saturday when his daughter Galla Vanting made an impressive winning debut at Turffontein.
Under Denis Schwartz, the Lucky Houdalakis trained filly was quickly away and went off to make the running in Saturday’s Athina Juvenile Plate (Fillies) over 1000 metres.

Despite being challenged close home by favoured Miss Cool, Galla Vanting found a bit more in the closing stages and stayed on to score by a neck on debut.

It was a good result for Querari, whose first timer daughter Clean Living finished third.

Bred by Maine Chance Farms, Galla Vanting is out of the High Chaparral mare Grande Roche.

Saturday’s winner was a R150 000 buy from the 2021 National 2YO Sale.

Galla Vanting is the sixth two-year-winner this season for Querari (who heads the Leading Sires of 2YOs list), with the son of Oasis Dream also responsible for impressive recent Listed Ruffian Stakes winner River Queraress.
