Gimmethegreenlight’s first success on Saturday came when his blue blooded daughter Infinity Edge made a winning debut to land the first race.
Trained by Michael Miller, and ridden by Jacey Botes, the filly stormed home from to win the Tote Soccer Bets Maiden Juvenile Plate (Fillies) by nearly a length and a half.
Bred by Waterford Stud, the two-year-old, who is owned by Messrs B J Sahd & Sterling M Miller, is out of the top-class Outcome. The latter won 10 races including the G1 Garden Province Stakes.
Gimmethegreenlight’s impeccably bred son Gimmie Rules, a full-brother to three stakes winners, made the perfect start to his career when winning on debut at Hollywoodbets Scottsville.
Trained, like his dam and siblings, by Dean Kannemeyer, the two-year-old stayed on strongly, under Craig Zackey, to claim the www.galloptv.co.za Maiden Juvenile Plate (1200m) by a length.
Bred and owned by Khaya Stables, Gimmie Rules is out of the Trippi sired G1 South African Fillies Sprint winner Real Princess.
The colt is a full-brother to multiple G1 winner Gimme A Prince, G3 Baker McVeigh Diana Stakes winner Gimmie’s Countess and Listed City Of Cape Town Jet Master Stakes winner The Real Prince.
Gimmethegreenlight’s third winner on Saturday came in the form of Star In Motion. A R1 000 000 buy from the 2024 National Yearling Sale, the Dean Kannemeyer trained colt romped home to land the Gallop Form Maiden Plate (1400m) by three lengths
Owned by Greenacres Trust (Nom: Mr N M Shirtliff), Messrs Reon Barnard, L I F Meaker, G J Player & G Ragunan & Mrs N P Malherbe, Star In Motion had finished fifth on debut before running second in his following two starts.
The colt, bred on similar lines to the Gimmethegreenlight sired champion Bless My Stars, is out of the Var mare Star Evolution.
