Maine Chance Farms’ inform stallion Querari had a smart looking trio of winners on Saturday.
Querari came up with two impressive two-year-old winners at Turffontein on Saturday, and the same day his classy son King’s Quest won at Hollywoodbets Durbanville.

Sean Tarry sent out Querari two-year-olds Ocean Mistress and Turn It Up to win impressively on Saturday. Both juveniles were ridden to victory by Keagan De Melo.
Ocean Mistress, who had finished second on her only previous start, caught the eye when winning the 4Racing Welcomes You Juvenile Plate.

The filly pulled clear in the closing stages of Saturday’s 1160m contest and drew off to win by a length and three quarters.

Bred by Lammerskraal Stud, Ocean Mistress races for the Wernars Family and Harry Willson.

Out of the Var mare Varsity Lover (and bred on the same cross as high-class sprinter I Am Giant), Ocean Mistress was a R2 000 000 buy from the 2025 Premier Yearling Sale.

Querari also looks to have  a very smart two-year-old colt to his name this season in the form of Turn It Up.
The latter made it two wins from three starts when he romped home to claim Saturday’s #Youcanbetonus! Juvenile Plate (1160m) by over two and a half lengths.
Bred by Laurence Wernars (Turn It Up races for the Wernars Family, Mukund Gujadhur and Rikesh Sewgoolam), Turn It Up, a half-brother to champion Proceed, is out of the Captain Al mare Xplosive Kiss.

South Africa’s Leading Sire of 2YOs in 2018-2019, Querari has been responsible for eight two-year-old winners this season thus far.
The son of Oasis Dream also enjoyed success at Hollywoodbets Durbanville on Saturday, where Querari gelding King’s Quest won the fifth race on the card.

Under Aldo Domeyer, the Candice Bass trained four-year-old made it back to back wins when he stormed home to land the Bet With Tote www.tote.co.za Class 4 (1400m) by a length and a half.
Bred by Lammerskraal Stud, King’s Quest races for Messrs M A Govender, S S Govender, T Govender & Ryan Landy, Mr C Dorrington & Ms A M de Manielle & Nick & Val McFall.

The gelding, who is out of the Western Winter mare Keyra, was a R450 000 buy from the 2023 Cape Yearling Sale.

Querari, who is currently third on the South African General Sires premiership, has nine lots on offer at the National Yearling Sale.
