Hemel ‘N Aarde Stud’s resident stallion, and former Equus Champion, Jay Peg has enjoyed a good run of success over the past few days, and the A.P. Indy grandson was at it again at Hollywoodbets Scottsville on Sunday.

The four time G1 winning Jay Peg’s first success on Sunday came when his three-year-old daughter Star Act broke her maiden when claiming the second race on Scottsville’s card. The Sean Humby trained filly stayed on smartly under Donovan Dillon to score by a length and a half over 1000m.

Out of the Captain Al mare Emmajo, and bred thus on the same cross as Jay Peg’s graded stakes winners Flash Drive and Hot Affair, Star Act was making just her second start on Sunday, with the filly having finished fifth on debut.

Jay Peg’s second success on Sunday came when his gelded son Italian Dynasty claimed the fourth race for Garth Puller and Kyle Strydom. Three-year-old Italian Dynasty bounded clear to break his maiden by nearly two lengths, with a convincing win over 1600 metres.
Bred by the Hemel ‘N Aarde Stud, Italian Dynasty, sent out tote favourite for Sunday’s race, had been third in each of his three prior starts.

Winner of both the G1 Dubai Duty Free and G1 Singapore Airlines International Cup, Jay Peg had also been responsible for an eye catching debut winner just days earlier, when his 3yo daughter Queen Jay scored over 1000m at the Vaal on Thursday.
