In the process, that Willem Engelbrecht JR bred filly became Antonius Pius’ seventh two-year-old winner for the 2016-2017 season.
The son of Danzig’s previous 2yo winners this season include G3 Protea Stakes runner up Laurent Du Var, the very quick Kissable –who won her first two starts by more than 12 lengths, and debut winners Tribal Force, Under The Stars and Itsgonnarain.

A former G1 Breeders’ Cup Mile runner up and leading first crop sire, Antonius Pius is once again in the top of SA’s leading sires of 2yos.

His previous top offspring included the graded winners Antonius Du Bois, Belong To Me and My Sanctuary, dual Listed Aquanaut Handicap winner Cool Chardonnay and East Cape star filly Yoshie.
