Six winners in six days for Twice Over

28th November 2019

European champion, and four time G1 winner, Twice Over has been enjoying a good run of form and the former Henry Cecil trained star was at it again at Kenilworth on Wednesday.

When his son Doppio Oro romped home to a facile score on Wednesday, he became Twice Over’s sixth individual winner since Friday night.
Bred by the Klawervlei Stud, 3yo Doppio Oro put daylight between himself and his rivals when scoring a comprehensive 1.75 length maiden win over 1400 metres.
Trained by Candice Bass-Robinson, the Twice Over gelding had been second, to the promising Pinkerton, last time out but made amends for that runner up effort with a stirring win on Wednesday.

(Doppio Oro is a reserve runner for the R2.5 million CTS Ready To Run Stakes.)

A dual winner of the G1 Emirates Airline Champion Stakes, Twice Over had enjoyed success in two different countries over the past weekend, with his offspring notching up four wins and winning in both South Africa and Mauritius.

The former European star went on to have more success on Monday when his daughter Fleur Du Cap powered home to 2.5 length win over 1800m to score for a second time.

From the same family as G1 winners All At Sea, Hilda’s Passion, Passage Of Time (dam of popular young sire Time Test), Timepiece and Yoshida (not to mention Horse Of The Year and influential sire Damascus), Twice Over is also the sire of talented 3yo Invidia, who rates as a leading chance for the upcoming CTS Ready To Run Stakes.
