Maine Chance Farms’ multiple champion sire Silvano is set to be well represented at this week’s Emperors Palace National Yearling Sale, and the triple G1 winner had a timely boost when his progeny won a pair of feature races at Scottsville on Easter Sunday.

Silvano’s talented four-year-old daughter Miyabi Gold showed her class when carrying 60kgs to a one length win in the Listed The Scarlet Lady over 1750m on Sunday.
Bred by Daytona Stud, the classy Justin Snaith trained filly (a winner of the 2018 G2 Kuda Gold Bracelet) has now won four of only ten races, with Sunday’s win taking Miyabi Gold’s earnings to R563 750.

A full-sister to Listed Jockey Club Stakes winner Konkola, Miyabi Gold is out of the Western Winter mare Mkushi Gold and is thus bred on the same cross as high class graded stakes winners Black Arthur, Strathdon, and Wind Chill.

Miyabi Gold’s paternal half-brother Silver Rose also caught the eye on Sunday when making all to win the Highland Night Cup (Non Black-Type) over 2400m –beating Silvano’s G3 Cape Summer Stayers Handicap winning son Strathdon by two lengths.
Trained by Andre Nel, the consistent six-year-old (bred and owned by Sabine Plattner) has won or placed in 17 of his 23 outings, with Silver Rose having now won three of his last five starts.

Silvano, whose other notable performers this season include the high class 3yos Hawwaam and Silvano’s Pride, has 21 yearlings on offer at this week’s National Sale, including a half-sister (Lot 29) to G1 SA Nursery winner Arabian Beat, a filly (Lot 89) out of G2 Fillies Guineas winner Gibraltar Blue, a filly (Lot 178) out of the multiple G1 winning champion Princess Victoria, and a half-sister (Lot 189) to Equus Champion French Navy who is very closely related to Miyabi Gold!
