The United States sister shines at Orby Sale

30th September 2025

Dual classic winner Hermosa, a full-sister to Moutonshoek’s G1 winning stallion The United States, made headlines at the first session of Goffs’ Orby Sale Book 1 on Monday.

The daughter of Galileo had a Wootton Bassett filly (Lot 168) make €625,000 on Monday.
Consigned by Baroda Stud, the filly was signed for by David Redvers on behalf a partnership which included Henri Bozo.

Not only is the dam a dual 1,000 Guineas winner, annexing the Anglo-Irish equivalents in 2019, she also bred this year’s G3 Hampton Court Stakes scorer and G1 Grand Prix de Paris runner-up Trinity College.

In turn, Hermosa is one of three top-flight winners out of Beauty Is Truth, along with her sister Hydrangea and brother The United States. All three siblings are by Galileo.

Further G1 form has been added to the page by this filly’s close relation Whirl (also by Wootton Bassett), with the Pretty Polly and Nassau Stakes winner being out of another of Hermosa’s sisters in Salsa.

As if all that wasn’t enough, the pedigree received another notable enhancement on Saturday when Hawk Mountain (by Wootton Bassett), another close relation as the fourth foal out of Hydrangea, ran out an impressive winner of the G2 Beresford Stakes.

The G1 Ranvet Stakes winning The United States has some very promising three-year-olds to his name this season including Tin Pan Alley, Keukenhof and Malibu.
