Third G1 win for Alado relative

8th November 2021

Hemel ‘N Aarde Stud’s resident Danzig stallion Alado is very closely related to sensational four-year-old filly Alpinista.

The latter, a daughter of Frankel, made it three G1 wins this season when she won Sunday’s G1 Allianz Grosser Preis von Bayern at Munich.

Alpinista had yet to taste defeat in four previous outings in 2021 when she lined up in the Grosser Preis von Bayern, coming back off wins in the G1 Grosser Preis von Berlin and 26 G1 Preis von Europa last time.

Her granddam Albanova (a full-sister to Alado’s dual G1 winning dam Alborada), like Alpinista, was also conditioned by Sir Mark Prescott, had rattled off a trio of German Group 1 triumphs in a nine-week spree during 2004 and Alpinista duly emulated her grandmother’s feat and stayed perfect for the year with a third elite-level triumph of her own in Sunday’s 12- furlong feature.

Under Luke Morris, the Kirsten Rausing bred and owned filly stayed on to post a three-parts of a length win in Sunday’s German feature.

Alpinista, one of 20 G1 winners for her sire and from the same female line as Frankel’s star son Cracksman, has now won seven of just 12 starts.
