Maine Chance Farms’ inform stallion Querari had a weekend to remember this past week.
Not only did Querari’s two-year-old son Questor capture the Listed Champion Juvenile Cup on Friday, the stallion’s two-year-old daughter Bavarian Beauty won the G1 Douglas Whyte Stakes on Sunday.
In claiming the Douglas Whyte Stakes, the Tony Peter trained Bavarian Beauty became Querari’s third G1 winner, following Querari Falcon and Rio Querari, and his 34th stakes winner overall.
Eighth on debut, Bavarian Beauty showed great improvement when relocating to Gauteng where she won and finished second in her only two starts prior to Sunday’s win.
Under Craig Zackey, the two-year-old powered home to land Sunday’s Hollywoodbets Greyville feature impressively by a length and a half.
Bred by Maine Chance Farms, Bavarian Beauty has now won twice from just four starts.
The filly is out of the Silvano mare Bandola, and is thus bred on the same Querari/Silvano cross as fellow graded stakes winners Cosmic Light, Homely Girl and Wonderwall.
Her G1 winning sire Querari, twice South Africa’s Leading Sire of 2YOs, has had a great season with his two-year-olds in 2022-2023 including the first three finshers, Underworld, Zoomie and Baltic Secret, in the Listed Somerset 1200.
The son of Oasis Dream, and close relative of British sensation Quinault, has ten lots on offer at the 2023 August Two Year Old Sale.
