Maine Chance Farms’ boom young sire Vercingetorix looks to have come up with yet another smart first crop galloper in the form of Sultanah.

The latter, bred like her sire by Klawervlei Stud, made it three wins on the bounce when she won at Turffontein on Saturday.

Trained by Candice Dawson, four-year-old Sultanah hit the front a long way from home before staying on gamely, under jockey Gavin Lerena, to record a near half length while landing Saturday’s fourth race.

A lightly raced four-year-old, Sultanah has now won three of just seven starts.

Her G1 Jebel Hatta/G1 Daily News 2000 winning sire Vercingetorix has made a superb start to his stud career, with his first crop headed by the graded stakes winners African Warrior and Ikigai, and his second crop by G1 Allan Robertson Championship winner Vernichey and G3 Cape Classic hero Seeking The Stars.

The son of now pensioned multiple champion sire Silvano, Vercingetorix had two-year-olds make up to R600 000 at the recent Emperors Palace National 2YO Sale.
