Moutonshoek’s G1 winning stallion The United States came up with two winners at the Vaal on Thursday.
The chestnut son of Galileo had his first success on Thursday when his son Trip To States won the second race.
Under Kabelo Matsunyane, Trip To States hit the front close home and stayed on to win the Racing Today Maiden Handicap (1200m) by a length and a quarter.
Trained by Chris Jonker, the gelding was bred by Port Haven Stud. Owned by the Jonkers, Trip To States is out of the Trippi mare Regal Trip and is thus bred on the same cross as G2 winner Sheela.
The United States’s second success came when his son Oklahoma Twister won the fifth race.
Trained by Heinrich van der Westhuizen, the Jeffrey Syster ridden five-year-old stayed on down the inside of the track to get up and win the Racing240 MR 68 Handicap (1600m) by a length and a quarter.

Winner of the G1 Ranvet Stakes, the regally bred The United States is set to be represented by his daughter Keukenhof in Saturday’s G3 Schweppes Diana Stakes.
The son of Galileo also has three of his offspring entered for the G2Betway Joburg Spring Challenge.
