Multiple G1 winner Liam’s Map, whose dam is the Trippi sired G3 winner Miss Macy Sue, made headlines at Thursday’s session of the 2019 Ocala Spring Sale Of Two-Year-Olds in Training when a colt by him made $1.2 million to top Thursday’s sale.

Consigned by Wavertree Stables (Agent), the grey/roan colt (Lot 898) was knocked down to Robert E. and Lawana Low.
Jacob West, who represented the Lows in buying the colt, said he was a rare gem.
“I don’t use the term loosely, but he was a freak,” West said. “I loved him from the second I saw him. There was a little bit of buzz before the sale. When you hear the buzz and then they show up on the track and do everything the right way, they vet clean, and they’re from a good consignor, you get excited about them. When I went and saw him, I was totally in love. He was a physical specimen unlike anything I had seen in a while. I loved him. He has the right pedigree, and I am lucky to have clients that trust me.”
The $1.2 million buy is from the first crop of his Lane’s End based sire Liam’s Map, whose six wins from eight starts netted him over $1.3 million, with his victories including both the G1 Breeders’ Cup Dirt Mile and G1 Woodward Stakes.
Liam’s Map is one of a growing number of high class stakes winners produced by daughters of Drakenstein Stud’s based sire Trippi –South Africa’s Champion Sire of 2015-2016.
