Trippi grandson wows in North America

7th Oct 2019

Drakenstein Stud’s champion sire, and increasingly successful broodmare sire, Trippi is broodmare sire of the hottest young stallion in North America at the moment.

Liam’s Map

The brilliant Liam’s Map, who is out of Trippi’s G3 Winning Colors Stakes winning daughter Miss Macy Sue, was responsible for a second first crop G1 winner on Sunday when his unbeaten two-year-old daughter Wicked Whisper romped to a two and three quarter length victory in the G1 Frizette Stakes at Belmont Park.

Wicked Whisper, a brilliant, six and a quarter length winner on debut, joins G1 Runhappy Hopeful Stakes hero Basin as a top-level G1 winner to have emerged from Liam’s Map’s remarkable first crop.
Based at Lane’s End Farm, the handsome grey Liam’s Map (by Unbridled’s Song) has fast established himself as an exceptional sire prospect, and he looks sure to build on this incredible start.

An exceptional racehorse himself, Liam’s Map won six of only eight races, with his victories including a four and three quarter length score in the 2015 G1 Woodward Stakes, and a two and a half length victory in 2015 G1 Las Vegas Breeders’ Cup Dirt Mile (downing promising sire Lea in the process).

Trippi, whose G3 Byerley Turk winning son Tristful caught the eye when winning a competitive looking pinnacle stakes at Hollywoodbets Greyville on Sunday, is enjoying increasing success as a broodmare sire.
The G1 winning son of End Sweep is not only damsire of the brilliant Liam’s Map but also Equus Champion Gabor, and the graded stakes winners Miss Sunset, Not This Time, Multiplier and Signalman, as well as current smart two-year-old Inspiressa –who was second to brilliant filly Bast in the G1 Del Mar Debutante Stakes this year.
