Moutonshoek’s successful resident stallion Mambo In Seattle has been enjoying a rich run of success over the past few days and the 2008 G1 Travers Stakes second was represented by his fourth winner since Sunday when enjoying a double at the Vaal on Tuesday.
Mambo In Seattle gelding Snow In Seattle kick started the double for his sire when landing a handicap over 1200m for trainer Barend Botes and rider Lyle Hewitson on Tuesday.
Bred by the Blazing Saddles Corporation, the four-year-old, who is out of Aristis mare Winter Bird, ran on smartly to record a 0.4 of a length win.
Snow In Seattle, who has now won or placed in all five of his last starts, has now won five times for his connections.
With Snow In Seattle victorious in the Vaal’s fifth race, another son of Mambo In Seattle, Danza, landed the seventh.
Trained by Alec Laird, the Wicklow Stud bred five-year-old picked up his second win with a game short-head win in the 1400m contest.
Danza’s sire Mambo In Seattle, whose dam is a G1 placed full-sister to legendary stallion A P Indy, is no stranger to success, with his notable runners including multiple G1 winner Same Jurisdiction, and fellow graded winners Desert Rhythm, Mambo Mime and Fortune Fella, with the latter having pushed his earnings to over R500 000 when victorious at Turffontein on Sunday.
Mambo In Seattle, whose other relatives include his exceptional ¾ brother Lemon Drop Kid, and fellow sire standouts Summer Squall, Al Mufti and Raja Baba –as well as promising Investec Derby winning sire Ruler Of The World, has three yearlings on July’s KZN Yearling Sale.
