Maine Chance Farms’ inform stallion Querari had a great weekend last week, and his good run continued on Tuesday when Querari came up with a pair of winners at Hollywoodbets Greyville.
Querari’s top-class sire Oasis Dream also got into the act on Tuesday with the former July Cup’s son Allaroundtheworld claiming the fifth race on the card.
Querari’s first success came when his front-running son Griffin Park made much of the running to land the second race at Hollywoodbets Greyville.
Under Richard Fourie, the MJ Odendaal-trained three-year-old skipped clear of his rivals and powered home to claim the second win of his career by just over half a length.
Bred by Drakenstein Stud, Griffin Park, who is out of the Pivotal mare Pin Turn, has now won two of his last three starts.
Querari’s second success on Tuesday came when his four-year-old daughter Spring Kiss ran out a game-winner of the sixth race.
One of four winners on the day for Richard Fourie, the Andre Nel-trained Spring Kiss came with a strong run down the centre of the track and kept going gamely to score by just under half a length.
Bred and owned by Sabine Plattner, Spring Kiss has now won twice.
Twice South Africa’s Leading Sire of 2YOs, Querari recently came up with his 42nd stakes winner when his daughter Rainbow Lorikeet won the Listed Schweppes Cape Fillies Classic at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth on Saturday.
At the time of writing, Querari had been responsible for more black-type winners in South Africa this season than Gimmethegreenlight, Rafeef, Lancaster Bomber, and Vercingetorix.
