His promising two-year-old son Sherlock Holmes got off the mark at the third time of asking when he won Tuesday’s #Youcanbetonus! Maiden Juvenile Plate (1200m).
Third and second on his two previous starts, the Tony Peter trained colt romped home, despite being green, to break his maiden by nearly two and three quarter lengths.

Sherlock Holmes is the fifth two-year-old winner this season for What A Winter, South Africa’s Leading Sire of 2YOs in 2019-2020.

What A Winter’s second success on Tuesday came when his Johan Janse Van Vuuren trained son Romilly romped home to win the ninth and final race at the Vaal.
Under Keagan De Melo, the gelded three-year-old put distance between himself and his rivals with Romilly drawing off to win by two and three quarter lengths.

Bred by Drakenstein Stud, Romilly has won two of his seven starts.
Tuesday’s winner, who is out of the Trippi mare Clara Isabella, is owned by the Wernars Family and Rikesh Sewgoolam.

His four time G1 winning sire also looks to have come up with a smart sort in the form of Margate.
That two-year-old filly made a big impression when she romped home to break her maiden by two and a half lengths at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth on Monday.
