Wednesday double for Legislate

12th Jan 2023

Cheveley Stud’s homebred champion Legislate struck twice at Hollywoodbets Greyville on Wednesday, with son Master Of Law victorious in the fourth race and daughter Toto successful in Wednesday’s seventh, and penultimate, race.
Master Of Law and Toto were their sire’s only runners at Greyville on the day, giving Legislate a 100% strike rate on Wednesday.
The Paul Lafferty trained Master Of Law powered home, from the back of the field, to get up close home and win Wednesday’s www.tabgold.co.za MR 77 Handicap (1600m) by a convincing three-parts of a length.
Ridden to victory by Malesela Katjedi, four-year-old Master Of Law was winning for a second time.
Bred by Avontuur Thoroughbred Farm, the gelding is out of the Western Winter mare Jackie O.
Legislate’s five-year-old daughter Toto showed great heart when she fought back gamely to land Wednesday’s Gold Circle Racing Youtube Channel FM 86 Handicap (1200m) by nearly half a length.
Under Serino Moodley, the Michael Miller trained mare claimed her third career win when she accounted for former G2 Zulu Kingdom Explorer Golden Slipper winner Love Bomb in Wednesday’s contest.
Bred by Drakenstein Stud, Toto is out of the Trippi mare Rain In Africa.
Former Horse Of The Year, and four time G1 winner, Legislate made a sensational start with his first crop headed by six stakes winners, including the graded stakes winners Airways Law, Hoedspruit, So Flawless and Zimbaba.
