Wednesday double for One World

Drakenstein Stud’s prominent stallion One World enjoyed a midweek double at Hollywoodbets Durbanville on Wednesday.
Not only did One World’s daughter Miss World win the fourth race on Wednesday but another daughter, Star World, won the fifth race on the card.

One World went close to having a treble on Wednesday with his daughters Pentolina, My Only Weakness and Her World finishing second, third and fourth respectively in the sixth race at Hollywoodbets Durbanville.

The Greg Ennion trained Miss World made the most of a light weight when she romped home to an emphatic win in Wednesday’s Woodruff Racing Syndicate Progress Plate (F and M) (1250m).
Under Sifisokuhle Bungane, the four-year-old stormed home to win as she liked by three lengths.
Bred by Rikesh Sewgoolam, Miss World had shown smart form at two, where her efforts included a runner up effort in the Listed Somerset 1200.

Miss World, who races for Etienne Braun and Matt Williams, is out of the Dynasty mare Blakes Mistress.

One World’s second success on Wednesday came when his daughter Star World claimed the Bet With Tote www.tote.co.za Class 5 (F and M) (1250m).
One of three winners on the day for Richard Fourie, the Vaughan Marshall trained three-year-old kept finding in the closing stages to pick up the second win of her career.

Bred by her part-owner Ken Truter, Star World is out of the Kahal mare Open Your Eyes.

Her G1 Sun Met winning sire One World has 12 lots on offer at the Premier Yearling Sale, including a colt (Lot 212) out of G3 Prix du Cap winner Elusive Heart and a filly (Lot 266) bred on the same cross as One World’s champion son One Stripe.
