Maine Chance Farms’ inform stallion Querari had a quick-fire double at Greyville on Wednesday, when his progeny Liberty Hall and Miss Calypso won races one and five respectively.

Two-year-old Liberty Hall made an impressive winning debut, when that John and Liz Slade bred colt romped home to score by 1.4 lengths over 1200m on Wednesday.
Trained by Dean Kannemeyer, and ridden by Keagan De Melo, Liberty Hall had been third in a barrier trial previously but was making his first official start on Wednesday.

Out of the Fort Wood mare Liberty Star, Liberty Hall was a R500 000 buy from the 2018 National Yearling Sale.

He is the 11th juvenile winner for Querari this season, following the likes of Tuesday’s eye catching winner Mon Cherie, and recent scorer Your Pace Or Mine.

Querari’s second success on Wednesday came when his Dr Ian Heyns bred daughter Miss Calypso picked up her fourth career win when victorious over 1400m for trainer Gavin Van Zyl and jockey Anton Marcus.
The progressive 3yo, now a winner of her last two in a row, simply outclassed her rivals as she romped home to score by nearly four lengths.

A service to Querari proved the star attraction at Monday night’s Cape Breeders’ Club Stallion Service Auction, when knocked down to Dennis Evans for R115 000.
