Weekend four timer for Ideal World

8th Jan 2018

Mauritzfontein’s resident sire Ideal World has been in tremendous form in 2017-2018, with the son of Kingmambo represented by a flurry of winners in recent weeks.

Hermoso Mundo

The regally bred Ideal World was at it again this weekend when he was represented by four more winners, with his weekend winners including an eye catching two-year-old winner.
First of the Ideal World progeny to score was Tease, who broke her maiden in fine style over a mile at Kenilworth on Friday. Trained by Justin Snaith, the Wilgerbosdrift & Mauritzfontein bred 3yo had been second at her two previous outings, and Tease was duly rewarded for her consistency with a smart win here.

Ideal World looks to have a smart 2yo to his name in the form of Inverroche, who strolled home to make a three length winning debut over 1000m at Scottsville on Saturday. Backed down to start a 21-10 favourite, Inverroche showed plenty of ability as she won handsomely first time out for trainer Mark Dixon. Bred by the Birch Bros, the filly was a R140 000 buy from the 2017 KZN Yearling Sale.

She was the very first 2yo runner for Ideal World this season –and he could not have made a better start!

Ideal World has a number of smart 3yos this season, headed by the G3 Graham Beck Stakes 1-2 finishers Zen Arcade and Ideal Secret and the latter impressed many pundits on Sunday when he won a progress plate over 1600m at Turffontein. In the process, Ideal Secret accounted for such talented older runners as Charity Mile runner up Social Order,  Betting World 1900 second Tilbury Fort, and Snitzel’s G1 SA Classic winner Heavenly Blue.

Fifth previously in the G2 Dingaans, Ideal Secret, who has now won twice and been placed three times from eight outings, looks destined for feature race company once again in the not too distant future.

Zen Arcade

He was one of two winners at Turffontein on Sunday for Ideal World, with the latter also responsible for the Alec Laird trained Amazing Strike. The latter, bred and owned by Mauritzfontein, made it win number eight when landing a pinnacle stakes over 1400m –at the expense of a smart field including graded stakes winners New Predator and Champagne Haze.  A remarkably durable 6yo, Amazing Strike had finished a close third in the G2 Merchants two starts back and his latest win pushed his earnings to over R700 000.

A well proven sire, whose best runners include exported champion Smart Call, champion stayer Hermoso Mundo and graded stakes winners Cape Speed, Zante and Zen Arcade, Ideal World is out of a champion own sister to outstanding sire Dansili.

The latter, sire of 20 individual G1 winners, has made his mark as both a sire of sires and broodmare sire, with Dansili sire sons including such G1 producers as Harbinger, Zoffany, Rail Link, Strategic Prince, and Zacinto, and his daughters responsible for G1 winners Capla Temptress, Astaire, Chicquita, Nezwaah and 2017 Prix Royal-Oak (French St Leger) Ice Breeze.
