William Longsword relative wows on debut

9th May 2021

Klawervlei Stud’s regally bred stallion William Longsword gained a handsome boost to his pedigree page when his close relative Gimme A Prince made a winning debut at Hollywoodbets Scottsville on Sunday.

Out of William Longsword’s G1 winning half-sister Real Princess, the Khaya Stables bred and owned two-year-old made a big impression on debut.

Under Keagan De Melo, the Dean Kannemeyer trained Gimme A Prince (by Gimmethegreenlight) was always up with the pace and when asked the question, the blue blooded colt stormed home to win by over three lengths and Gimme A Prince looks a very smart prospect in the making.

Ironically enough, second home to Gimme A Prince was William Longsword colt Hasta Manana, who has now finished second in each of his first two starts.

Gimme A Prince is out of the top-class, Klawervlei Stud bred racemare Real Princess, who won six times including the G1 South African Fillies Sprint and G3 Poinsettia Stakes.

Real Princess is one of four stakes winners produced by the winning Pagan Princess also dam of not only William Longsword, but the likes of Silver God and Really Royal.

Cape Guineas winner William Longsword has 11 lots on offer at the upcoming CTS Farm Yearling Sale, including a three-parts brother (Lot 21) to G1 winning sprinter Sergeant Hardy and a half-sister (Lot 114) to dual G1 winning champion Seventh Plain.
