28th Feb 2017

Fantasticlife, a half-brother to Cheveley Stud’s promising sire Wylie Hall, picked up his fourth win in Hong Kong recently when successful over 1400m.

A son of Encosta De Lago, Fantasticlife ran on powerfully to score by 1.5 lengths, when victorious in the Citigold Handicap at Sha Tin on Sunday and the gelding has now won or placed in eight races and has banked more than $1.9 million in stakes money.

Fantasticlife is out of the outstanding broodmare Beauty Belle, whose top offspring include multiple G1 winner Wylie Hall and former outstanding Hong Kong sprinter Absolute Champion. The latter, a G2 winning 2yo in Australia, was a top class, but ill-fated, performer, whose victories included a four and a quarter length beating of legendary Hong Kong champion Silent Witness in the 2006 G1 Hong Kong Sprint.

Wylie Hall, whose first foals were born last year, was a top class racehorse, whose six career wins included the G1 SA Derby and G1 Champions Challenge.

His triple champion sire Redoute’s Choice has already made his mark as a sire of sires, and his top sire son, to date, Snitzel once again proved popular at the recently concluded Inglis Premier Yearling Sale, where the former G1 Oakleigh Plate winner’s yearlings fetched up to $625 000.

Snitzel is currently Australia’s Leading Sire by stakes won this season, and also leads the 2yo sires list at the time of writing. He has been represented by a staggering 22 individual two-year-old winners this season and appears on track to set a new Australian record for number of juvenile winners in a season.
