Impressive debut winner for Trippi

20th December 2018

Drakenstein Stud’s champion sire Trippi is enjoying another good season, and the son of End Sweep was at it again at Kenilworth on Wednesday.

Window To Africa

His 3yo daughter Window To Africa made a very impressive debut when romping home by two and a half lengths over 1000m for trainer Andre Nel, jockey Aldo Domeyer and breeders Klawervlei Stud at the Cape’s mid-week meeting and won in very taking style.

Window To Africa, who was backed down to start a 15-10 shot, was one of four winners on the day for her in-form jockey.

The beautifully bred filly was a R2.2 million purchase from the 2017 Cape Premier Yearling Sale.

Her sire Trippi, South Africa’s Champion Sire of 2015-2016, is no stranger to siring high class fillies, with Trippi’s previous star daughters including such G1 winners as R Heat Lightning, Inara, For The Lads, and Real Princess, as well as Equus Champion Hammie’s Hooker, G2 Queen Mary Stakes heroine Jealous Again, G3 winner and outstanding producer Miss Macy Sue, and this season’s G3 Diana Stakes winner Love To Boogie.

An increasingly successful broodmare sire, Trippi has a high class draft on offer at the 2019 Cape Premier Yearling Sale, with his yearlings on offer including a colt from the immediate family of Kentucky Derby winner Monarchos, a filly out of G1 winning sprinter Fly By Night, and a full-brother to this season’s top class 3yo Chimichuri Run.
