His 2yo daughter Wily Lass is set to make her debut for trainer Gavin Smith when she lines up in a maiden juvenile plate for fillies over 800m at Fairview this coming Monday.
Bred by John and Liz Slade, Wily Lass was produced by the Silvano mare Perceptive –an unraced half-sister to graded stakes winners Royal I.Q. (G2 Post Merchants) and Mentor (G2 Hawaii Stakes).

Her sire Wylie Hall, one of 34 G1 winners sired by triple Australian champion sire Redoute’s Choice, was an outstanding performer who banked more than R3.6 million. First past the post in the 2014 G1 Vodacom Durban July, Wylie Hall won or placed in 15 of 21 outings, with his victories including the G1 SA Derby (a race won by successful sires Elusive Fort and Pomodoro) and the G1 President’s Champions Challenge.

Also successful in the G2 Colorado King Stakes and Listed Derby Trial, Wylie Hall accounted for some exceptional performers including the Equus Champions

Redoute’s Choice

He made an instant impression with his first crop, with Wylie Hall filly Wylie Wench making R600 000 at the 2018 National Two Year Old Sale.

A half-brother to G1 Hong Kong Sprint winner Absolute Champion, Wylie Hall has five lots on offer at the 2019 Cape Premier Yearling Sale including a filly out of G3 Flamboyant Stakes winner Queen’s Command and a filly out of G2 SA Fillies Nursery heroine Virgo’s Babe.
