Philanthropist son entered for Kranji Mile

18th April 2019

Drakenstein Stud’s resident Kris S sire Philanthropist looks set to be represented by a runner in the $1.5 million Kranji Mile, set to be run at Kranji on May 25th.
His high class son Singapore Sling, whose past wins include both the G2 Investec Dingaans and Hong Kong Classic Cup, is among 21 horses entered for the 2019 Kranji Mile.

Trained by Tony Millard (who saddled the runner up in last year’s Kranji Mile), the Drakenstein Stud bred Singapore Sling was also second in the 2018 Group 1 BMW Hong Kong Derby and was a pleasing fourth to champion Beauty Generation in the Group 2 Chairman’s Trophy recently.

To date, Singapore Sling has banked over HK$16 000 000 in prize money.

His G3 Queens County Handicap winning sire Philanthropist has enjoyed plenty of success at stud, with his numerous high class performers including champions Pender Harbour and Phil’s Dream, G3 winner She’s A Giver and G1 Cape Derby third Pack Leader.

From the same female line as Native Dancer, What A Pleasure and former high class SA sire National Assembly, Philanthropist has 14 yearlings on offer at next week’s Emperors Palace National Yearling Sale.
