Vanree Stud’s resident sire Divine Jet was responsible for his first winner, when his two-year-old son Gotcaughtspeedin made a winning debut at Fairview on Friday.
Sent off a for the Itsarush.co.za Maiden Juvenile Plate over 1100m, the Hemel ‘N Aarde bred Gotcaughtspeedin powered home late to get up and shed his maiden by a length and a quarter.

Trained by Yvette Bremner, the gelded Gotcaughtspeedin was ridden to victory by in-form jockey Ryan Munger.

Gotcaughtspeedin is a the third first crop runner for his well performed sire Divine Jet.

The latter, who shares his seven times champion sire Jet Master with exciting young stallions Master Of My Fate and Pomodoro, reeled off three impressive wins in his first three starts before going on to finish third in the 2013 G2 Betting World Merchants where the bay accounted for the graded stakes winners Cap Alright, Shades Of Indigo, Louvre and Equus Champion Hammie’s Hooker.

In total, Divine Jet won or placed in ten of 16 races, with his beaten rivals also including July winning champion Heavy Metal, East Cape Horse of The Year Blaze Of Fire, and dual Merchants winner Tevez.

Divine Jet, who won from 1200-1400m, is out of the Al Mufti sired G1 Allan Robertson Fillies Championship second Divine Nymph, making him a half-brother to short lived G1 SA Classic hero Divine Jury and to the dam of G3 Protea Stakes winner Redcarpet Style.

This is the same family as Equus Champion Cherry On The Top, whose 3yo daughter Blossom current rates as one of the best fillies in Gauteng this season.
