Ridgemont Highlands’ five time G1 winning sire Canford Cliffs looks to have a smart sort to his name in the form of three-year-old gelding I Could Do Better.

The latter, who is trained by Keith Dalgleish, made it two wins from as many starts when romping to seven length in a novice stakes, over seven furlongs, at Carlisle on Monday.
I Could Do Better, who was produced by the Black Sam Bellamy mare Shebelia, had made a winning debut last year when victorious in his only start at two.

His sire Canford Cliffs has been enjoying a good run of form of late, with his notable winners headed by facile Listed Carey Group Buckhounds Stakes hero Salouen.

The latter, a close second in the 2018 G1 Investec Coronation Cup, holds entries in all of the G1 Investec Coronation Cup, G1 Prince Of Wales’s Stakes, G1 Coral-Eclipse and G2 Hardwicke Stakes.

His sire Canford Cliffs, a group winner at Royal Ascot three years running, covered over 100 mares during his first season in South Africa last year.
