Boland Stud will be offering, as agent, an exceptionally well bred daughter of Tapit’s exciting sire son Coup De Grace at the 2019 KZN Yearling Sale.

Coup De Grace, one of the fastest members of his generation, blitzed his way to five impressive victories, with Coup De Grace scoring comprehensive wins in both the Gr.2 Amsterdam and Gr.3 Bay Shore Stakes and he also ran third in the Gr.1 King’s Bishop Stakes.
A half-brother to Gr.1 Alcibiades Stakes winner Dancing Rags, Coup De Grace was produced by the Gr.3 placed mare Home Court –a Storm Cat daughter of US champion and Gr.1 Breeders’ Cup Distaff winner Jewel Princess.
Coup De Grace is one of 120 black type winners sired by triple US champion sire Tapit, whose progeny include five Breeders’ Cup winners and three (so far!) Belmont Stakes winners. To date, Tapit’s progeny have earned over $173 000 000 in prize money!
The handsome chestnut Coup De Grace had yearlings make up to R750 000 at the 2019 Cape Premier Yearling Sale.
Boland Stud will be offering a filly (Lot 143) by this exciting sire prospect, with this filly having been produced by top-class racemare Katy’s Lane.

A granddaughter of outstanding broodmare sire Royal Academy, Katy’s Lane won four times up to 1 600m with her victories including both the Gr.3 Fillies Mile and Gr.3 Starling Stakes, while accounting for such notable graded stakes winners as Amur Affair, Extra Zero, Jackodore, Magic Smoke, and SA Oaks winner Ilha Bela.
Katy’s Lane, who earned over R500 000 during her career, is a half or full sister to a staggering 12 winners, with her half-sister being none other than ten time winner and Emerald Fillies Handicap heroine Follow The Piper.
This is the family of graded stakes winners Beacon Beauty, Phantom Saga and Poetic.
This filly has been bred on a similar cross to the one that produced Gr.1 winner Tapitsfly!
