Varsfontein Stud’s hugely promising stallion Master Of My Fate had a Sunday to remember when responsible for a quick double at Hollywoodbets Scottsville.

Master Of My Fate’s talented first-crop 3yo daughter Master Keys (a first winner for breeder Nothemba Mlonzi) made it win number three from just seven starts when staying on gamely to record a half length win over 1600m on Sunday.
Trained by Nathan Kotzen, Master Keys was ridden to victory by Donovan Dillon.
Now a winner of two of her last three starts, Master Keys is out of the Tiger Ridge mare On A Wing, and is thus bred on the same Master Of My Fate/Tiger Ridge cross as promising filly, and recent Irridescence Stakes runner up, Driving Miss Daisy.
Her sire Master Of My Fate made it two wins on the day when his 3yo gelded son Master Of Fire romped home to shed his maiden over 1200m, while scoring by just over two lengths, in the last race, for trainer Michael Roberts.
Bred by the Lammerskraal Stud, Master Of Fire is out of the Western Winter mare Forty Fires.
Master Of My Fate has made a superb start to his stud career with his first crop headed by G2 KRA Guineas winner and recent G1 Vodacom Durban July third Twist Of Fate (who has earned over R3 000 000 in stakes), Kenyan Triple Crown winner Silverstone Air and Derby Trial winner Gift For The Gap, and his second crop including the likes of G2 SA Fillies Nursery winner Basadi Faith and the aforementioned Driving Miss Daisy.
The magnificent son of Jet Master has 18 lots on offer at the 2019 National 2YO Sale.
