Drakenstein Stud’s successful sire, and former Cartier Champion, Duke Of Marmalade has been enjoying a good run of success of late, and the five time G1 winning son of Danehill was at it again on Tuesday.

Duke Of Marmalade supplied a pair of winners at the Vaal on Tuesday, with his daughters Super Fine and Anne Boleyn winning three and six respectively. He went close to recording a treble on Tuesday with his son Intothemystic running second in the Vaal’s first race.

The Gary Alexander trained Super Fine got off the mark when romping home to a clear-cut two and a half length win over 1500m. Out of the Jallad mare Jalinga, Super Fine was ridden to victory by Denis Schwarz.

Duke Of Marmalade’s second winner on Tuesday came when his Riethuiskraal Stud bred daughter Anne Boleyn ran on strongly under Gavin Lerena to register a one length success over 1200m.
Trained by Paul Peter, the three-year-old has now won or placed in five of just seven starts.

Former Cartier Champion Duke Of Marmalade has already sired some top-class fillies and mares with his notable daughters including fellow Cartier Champion Simple Verse as well as such G1 winners as Star Of Seville and Sound Of Freedom. In South Africa, Duke Of Marmalade has already come up with such high-class daughters as the graded stakes winners Santa Clara, Seville Orange, Nastergal, and True To Life.
