Black Swan Stud’s bang in form sire, and former Equus Champion, Elusive Fort’s great run of form continued at the Vaal on Thursday when the son of Fort Wood supplied a pair of winners.

Elusive Fort’s first success on Thursday came when his daughter Fort Anne was promoted to first place, following original “winner” Netta’s disqualification, in the fourth race on the card.
Bred and owned by Oldlands Stud, the Heather Adamson trained Fort Anne was ridden to victory by Piere Strydom.

Out of the Oasis Dream mare Dream River, Fort Anne has now won twice, winning from 1450m to 1800m.

Elusive Fort’s second winner on Thursday came when his Aquanaut Handicap winning daughter Chitengo benefitted from a light weight to land a competitive looking pinnacle stakes over 2400m on the Vaal’s Classic Track.

Under Muzi Yeni, the Alec Laird trained five-year-old showed her well-being by romping home to a two length score, leaving former G1 SA Derby winners Out Of Your League (also by Elusive Fort) and Hero’s Honour trailing in her wake.

Bred by Wilgerbosdrift & Mauritzfontein, Chitengo has now won six times and has earnings of over R540 000.

Triple G1 winner Elusive Fort is enjoying a superb season in 2020-2021, with his star runners headed by top-class 3yos Catch Twentytwo and Kommetdieding, Ardmore Jamaica Handicap heroine Elusive Fortune and repeat Southeaster Sprint winner Elusive Trader.

He has four yearlings on the Cape Yearling Sale, and two lots on the Cape Premier Yearling Sale.
