Drakenstein Stud’s bang inform sire Duke Of Marmalade had another notable double at Turffontein on Saturday with his daughters Rain In Holland and Rise As One both winning their respective races.

The Drakenstein Stud bred and owned two-year-old Rain In Holland made it back to back wins, and two wins from just three starts when she won the second race, the All To Come Juvenile Plate (1600m), by nearly a length.

A good winner of her previous start, the Sean Tarry trained filly was steered to victory by Lyle Hewitson.
Rain In Holland, who is out of the Aqlaam mare Imvula, looks another nice prospect for her five time G1 winning sire.

Duke Of Marmalade’s second success on Saturday came when his Johan Janse Van Vuuren trained daughter Rise As One captured the ninth and final race -the Next Turffontein Racemeeting Middle Stakes (1450m). Under Chase Maujean, the Wernars bred and owned three-year-old fought out a thrillling duel with eventual runner up Indlamu to win by a long neck.
Out of the Dynasty mare Divine Right, Rise As One has now won three of just eight starts.
Duke Of Marmalade, whose progeny had won four races at Fairview on Tuesday, is having another good season with his local runners having banked in excess of R5.530 million for 2020-2021 thus far.
The former Cartier Champion has six lots on offer at the upcoming CTS Farm Yearling Sale and a further nine lots on the KZN Yearling Sale.
