Wednesday double for Visionaire

16th September 2021

Lammerskraal Stud’s G1 winning stallion Visionaire enjoyed a wonderful season in 2020-2021, and the son of Grand Slam’s good form continued when he supplied a winning double at Hollywoodbets Greyville on Wednesday afternoon.

Visionaire kicked the Wednesday card off in fine fashion when his daughter Kingsmeads Krystl won the first race at Greyville.
Trained by Alyson Wright, the three-year-old romped home, under Anton Marcus, to break her maiden by over two and a half lengths.

Bred by Lammerskraal Stud, Kingsmeads Krystl had contested feature races at her two previous starts, and was making just her fourth career start on Wednesday.

The filly is out of the Jet Master mare Berlinetta.

Visionaire is also the sire of the very classy filly Keep The Lights On, who showed her class when scoring a facile win in Wednesday’s fifth race, a conditional graduation for fillies and mares over 1100 metres.
Also partnered to victory by Anton Marcus, the Justin Snaith trained four-year-old simply outclassed her rivals to win as she liked by two and a half lengths.

Bred by Team Valor International, Keep The Lights On had shown smart form last season, when finishing third in both the G3 Umzimkhulu Stakes and G3 Poinsettia Stakes.

Out of the Var mare She’s A Pippa, Keep The Lights On has now won or placed in nine of just 12 starts.

Sire of last season’s Equus Champion Good Traveller, Visionaire has 3 lots on the 2021 CTS Ready To Run Sale.
