Maine Chance Farms’ very much inform stallion Querari came up with yet another feature race winner when his son Master Redoute won the G3 Ridgemont Peninsula Handicap (1800m) at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth on Saturday.
In landing Saturday’s R350 000 feature, Master Redoute became Querari’s 40th individual stakes winner.
One of two graded stakes winners on the day for trainer Andre Nel and owner Sabine Platner, five-year-old Master Redoute, who defied his starting price of 33-1 with a game performance, was given a well judged ride by Anthony Andrews.
The latter bought his mount with a sustained late challenge, which saw Master Redoute, second in five feature races prior to Saturday, split rivals and fly up late to claim his biggest win to date by nearly half a length.
Master Redoute, who is out of the Redoute’s Choice mare Lady Redoute, has now won three of 19 starts.
His sire Querari, twice Leading Sire of 2Yos in South Africa, is also responsible for this season’s G3 Cape Classic winner Questioning, and this season’s stakes winners Baltic Secret, Quantum King, and Zoomie.
One of 135 stakes winners for his sire Oasis Dream, Querari has nine lots on offer at the 2024 Cape Racing Premier Yearling Sale Powered By Tattersalls.
