Maine Chance Farms’ inform sire Querari came up with his 42nd stakes winner when his progressive daughter Rainbow Lorikeet won the Listed Schweppes Cape Fillies Classic (1800m) at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth on Saturday.
Trained by Candice Bass-Robinson, the regally bred three-year-old was given a patient ride by Aldo Domeyer.
Under Domeyer’s urgings, Rainbow Lorikeet stormed into the front close and powered away to claim her biggest win to date by a length and a quarter.
Rainbow Lorikeet, who was bred by Wilgerbosdrift & Mauritzfontein, took her tally to three wins from nine starts with her Cape Fillies Classic win.
Out of the Silvano mare Nightingale, Rainbow Lorikeet is bred on the same Querari/Silvano cross as graded stakes winners Bavarian Beauty, Cosmic Light, Homely Girl, and Wonderwall.
Rainbow Lorikeet joins the likes of Questioning (G3 Cape Classic), Master Redoute (G3 Ridgemont Peninsula Handicap, G3 New Turf Carriers Western Cape Stayers), Zoomie (Racehorse Owners Association Stakes), Formagear (Christmas Handicap) and Quantum Theory (Betway Spring Spree Stakes) as stakes winners for Querari this season.
Querari also gained another handsome boost to his pedigree page when his close relative Spirit Dancer won the G2 Howden Neom Turf Cup in Saudi Arabia on Saturday. A son of Frankel, Spirit Dancer has now won three group races in three different countries.
Seven-year-old Spirit Dancer, who has earned more than 1 700 000 pounds in stakes, is out of the Oasis Dream mare Queen’s Dream, a full-sister to Querari.
