Drakenstein Stud’s high-class sire What A Winter looks to have come up with another bright prospect in the form of Get Up.
The latter made an eye catching start to her career when she made a winning debut at Turffontein on Saturday.
Trained by Sean Tarry, two-year-old Get Up was given a fine ride by Ryan Munger in Saturday’s 4Racing Welcomes You Maiden Juvenile Plate (1160m).
Munger bought his mount with a strong late run which saw Get Up flash up late to win going away by two and a half lengths.
Bred and owned by Drakenstein Stud, Get Up is out of the Kingsbarns mare Gabor.
Her four time G1 winning sire What A Winter had also enjoyed good success at Hollywoodbets Durbanville on Wednesday.
Not only did What A Winter filly Winter In Auckland win the second race on Tuesday but the sire’s classy son Tenpenny picked up Wednesday’s Lucky Fish Winning Streak B Stakes.
Trained by Patrick Kruyer, four-year-old Tenpenny has won five of 13 starts, with the gelding having won three of his last four starts.
