Drakenstein Stud’s four time G1 winning sire Futura is having a cracking season in 2025-2026.
Dynasty’s champion son looks to have come up with yet another progressive sort in the form of Future Gamble.

The latter made it three wins in a row when running out an impressive winner at Turffontein on Saturday.
Trained by James Crawford, three-year-old Future Gamble came into Saturday’s Racing Today MR 88 Handicap (2000m) having won her last two starts and she duly made it a hatrick with a smart performance.
Under an inform Mickaelle Michel, Future Gamble quickened up smartly turning for home and she kicked clear to win convincingly by four lengths.

Bred and owned by Drakenstein Stud, Saturday’s winner has won or finished second in each of her last five starts and Future Gamble looks to be a progressive sort.

Future Gamble is out of the Captain Al mare Captain Gambler.

Her sire Futura has been enjoying a fine run of form this season, with the former Horse Of The Year’s flagbearers including G2 TAB SA Derby winner Curious Girl, G1 Lucky Fish Cape Derby runner up Note To Self and G3 New Turf Carriers Western Cape Stayers winner Ahead Of The Facts.

Curious Girl was named Champion Stayer at Saturday’s Highveld Feature Season Awards ceremony.
