Varsfontein Stud’s multiple champion sire Gimmethegreenlight came up with two eye catching winners at Hollywoodbets Scottsville on Wednesday.
Both his two-year-old Wednesday winners were trained by Mike and Mathew De Kock and both race for Hollywood Racing.

The regally bred Gimme A Fireball, a half-brother to G3 Winter Nursery winner Dreamworld, made a big impression when romping home to a brilliant win in Wednesday’s Gallop TV Maiden Plate.
Having finished third on debut, the son of Gimmethegreenlight duly went one better on Wednesday when drawing well clear to win as he liked by four and a half lengths.

Bred by Avontuur Thoroughbred Farm, the exciting colt is out of the Oasis Dream mare Dream De Ra.

Gimme A Fireball was a R2 000 000 buy from the 2025 Cape Premier Yearling Sale.

His champion sire struck again in the next race, when two-year-old Sparrow Man, making just his second start, won the Bet With Tote Maiden Plate (1600m).

Under Gavin Lerena, the Gimmethegreenlight colt, taking a step up in trip, kept galloping strongly in the closing stages to shed his maiden by over two lengths.

Out of the Dynasty mare Kelpie, Sparrow Man was bred by Ridgemont Highlands.
