Drakenstein Stud’s resident sire One World had a good double at the Vaal on Thursday.
The champion son of Captain Al had just three runners on the day, with One World filly Beautiful One  finishing fourth in the third race.

One World looks to have a very exciting prospect in the form of two-year-old Walkinginthewoods.
The latter made a smashing, winning debut when romping home to a facile six and a half length win, under Keagan De Melo, in Thursday’s Play Soccer 6,10 And 13 Maiden Plate (1200m).

Trained by Lucky Houdalakis, Walkinginthewoods is owned by Wernars Family, Messrs Dayalan Chinsammy, Gerald Frank & TKP Racing.

Out of the Vercingetorix mare Wisteria Walk (and thus bred on the same cross as One World’s stakes winning son World Attraction), Walkinginthewoods was an R800 000 buy from the 2025 National Yearling Sale.

Walkinginthewoods is one of 11 two-year-old winners for his sire this season.

One World’s second success on Thursday came when his son Satyagraha won the ninth and final race at the Vaal.
Under Keagan De Melo, the Sean Tarry trained gelding dug down deep to land the Next Vaal Racemeeting Thursday 6 August MR 74 Handicap (1450m).
Bred by Boland Stud, Satyagraha races for Advocate Reddy and Sean Tarry Racing (Pty) Ltd.
Now a two time winner, the four-year-old is out of the Proclamation mare Elisium.

Champion One World has enjoyed another fine season in 2025-206, with the Equus Champion’s five black type winners including such exciting prospects as Rich Man’s World and World Attraction.
