Maine Chance Farms’ champion sire Vercingetorix came up with an eye catching debut winner at the Vaal on Thursday.
His gelded four-year-old son Dog In The Fog made the perfect start to his career when he won at the first time of asking.

Trained by Mike and Mathew De Kock, Dog In The Fog romped home, under Callan Murray, to land the 4Racing Welcomes You Maiden Plate (1000m) by more than three and a half lengths.

Bred by Maine Chance Farms, the Vercingetorix gelding is owned by Hollywood Racing.

Thursday’s winner, who is out of the What A Winter mare Trickster, was a R650 000 buy from the 2024 National Yearling Sale.
The well bred Dog In The Fog, whose G2 placed dam is a sister to G1 SA Fillies Sprint winner Asiye Phambili, has a full-sister (Lot 80) on offer at the October Two Year Old Sale.

Dog In The Fog was one of two winners at the Vaal on Thursday for his champion sire.

Vercingetorix filly Playing Trix provided her sire with a second success on the card when she won the Racing Today FM 89 Divided Handicap (1000m).
The Fabian Habib trained four-year-old, under a good ride from Blaine Marx-Jacobson, made all to score a shade comfortably by three-parts of a length.
Unbeaten since joining the Habib yard, Playing Trix has won her last two starts.
The Klawervlei Stud bred filly races for Shanton Naicker, and she is out of G2 Gauteng Fillies Guineas winner Heaps Of Fun.

Multiple champion sire Vercingetorix has nine lots on offer at the October Two Year Old Sale.
