Winterbach Stud’s exciting young stallion Master Archie had another boost to his pedigree when his three-parts brother Bolero made it two wins from three starts when winning at Hollywoodbets Durbanville on Wednesday.
A three-year-old son of Rafeef and the G1 placed Var mare Valeta (whose stakes winning sister La Volta is the dam of Rafeef’s top-class son Master Archie), Bolero turned Wednesday’s VHM Racing Syndicate D Stakes (1250m) into a one horse race.

The Candice Bass trained colt roared home, under a good ride from Anthandiwe Mgudlwa, to win as he liked by a length and three quarters.

Fourth on debut, Bolero had broken his maiden subsequently by three-parts of a length prior to his win on Wednesday.
Bred by Avontuur Thoroughbred Farm, the Rafeef colt races for Andrew Brand.

A beautiful horse with a lot of ability,Bolero was a R600 000 buy from the 2025 Premier Yearling Sale.

His three-parts brother, G1 Computaform Sprint winner Master Archie, is set to have his eagerly awaited first runners this season.
The regally bred Master Archie has three lots on offer at the October Two Year Old Sale.
