Ridgemont’s red hot resident sire Rafeef has enjoyed an excellent few days, and his good form continued when Rafeef came up with two smart looking winners at the Vaal on Thursday.
His three-year-old daughter Matinee made a big impression when she made a winning debut on Thursday.

Under Anaas Mosaheb, the Sean Tarry trained Matinee stormed home to get up and win Thursday’s #Youcanbetonus! Maiden Plate (F&M) (1000m) by a length and a quarter -going away!
Bred by Team Valor International, who own the filly in partnership with Anant and Vanashree Singh, Matinee is out of the stakes winning Gimmethegreenlight mare Roll In The Hay.

Rafeef’s second success on the card came when his promising son Evening Parade ran out a convincing winner of the fourth race on the card.
One of two winners on the day for trainer Clinton Binda, the lightly raced three-year-old stayed on strongly , under Calvin Habib, to claim the Play Soccer6, 10, and 13 Novice Handicap (1200m) a shade cosily  by a length.
Winner of two of just four starts, the Sandown Stud bred Evening Parade is owned by Hollywood Racing.

Evening Parade, who is out of the Kahal mare Evening Breeze, was a R475 000 buy from the 2025 KZN Yearling Sale.

Rafeef, whose progeny include recently  crowned Equus Champion Haute Couture and the 2026 G2 Betway Joburg Spring Challenge F And M winner Flower Island, has nine lots on offer at the October Two Year Old Sale.
