Friday four-timer for Querari

11th October 2026

Maine Chance Farms’ top-class stallion Querari enjoyed a good day on Friday when the champion son of Oasis Dream supplied no fewer than four winners at Hollywoodbets Greyville.
Querari runners won races two, three, six and eight to provide their inform sire with a memorable KZN four-timer.

His first success on Friday came when his G3 Godolphin Barb Stakes winning son Prophet won the Live It. Love It. Own It. www.racecoast.co.za D Stakes (1000m).
Under Kabelo Matsunyane, the Duncan Howells trained seven-year-old stormed home down the inside of the track to get up and win a shade cosily by just over half a length.

Bred by Ben Botha (Pty) Ltd, Prophet is owned by Messrs Keegan Govender, Dhesan Chetty, Thershan Naidu & K Narainsamy.
Out of the Camden Park mare Amber Bouquet, Prophet, now a four time winner, showed top-class form at two when downing none other than subsequent Equus Champion Gladatorian when winning the G3 Godolphin Barb Stakes.

Querari followed up in the very next race when his son Deonarie won the Tote For The Win Maiden Plate (1600m). Dispatched a hot favourite, the Garth Puller trained colt romped home to shed his maiden by nearly three lengths.
Owned byMr P B Hosking, Deonaire was bred by Messrs A Labuschagne, J B Janse van Rensburg, & Mr P B Hosking.
Three-year-old Deonarie is out of the Silvano mare Flying Silver and is thus bred on the same Queerari/Silvano cross as a G1 winners Bavarian Beauty, Cosmic Speed and Star Major.

The red hot Querari ended Friday on a high note when his daughters Amc Roy’s Fantasy and Ocotillo won the sixth and eighth races respectively.
Three-year-old Amc Roy’s Fantasy, who had contested both the G2 Amusnet Golden Slipper and G2 Douglas Whyte Thekwini Stakes last season, picked up her second career win when she won Friday’s In The Box Seat Podcast Brought To You By Gallop TV Class 4 (F & M) (1600m). Under Tristan Godden, the Kumaran Naidoo trained filly stormed home to get up and win by a long neck.

Bred by Bllue Sky Thoroughbreds, Amc Roy’s Fantasy is owned by Roy Moodley. The filly, who is out of the Kahal mare Fantasy Lady, was a R120 000 buy from the 2025 KZN Yearling Sale.

Querari’s fourth and final success on Friday came when his blue blooded daughter Ocotillo won the Hollywoodbets Bright Future Class 5 (F &M) (1400m). The Lucinda Woodruff trained five-year-old ran on strongly to claim Friday night’s race by just over half a length.
Bred and owned by Jetvest, Ocotillo is out of G1 HSH Princess Charlene Empress Club Stakes winner Camphoratus.

South Africa’s Leading Sire of 2YOs in 2018-2019, Querari was responsible for seven stakes winners last season, headed by the Equus Champions Questioning and Star Major.
Querari has 14 lots on offer at the October Two Year Old Sale.
