This time, it was Twice Over’s La Plaisance bred son Run Red who scored, when successful over1400m at Kenilworth for trainer Andre Nel and owner Sabine Plattner on Saturday.

Sent off favourite, following a pleasing debut effort when fourth over 1200m, Run Red stayed on smartly, despite showing signs of greenness, to score by a length and a quarter and he looks another potentially useful sort for his sire.

Another son of Twice Over, the unraced Sequel also put up a bold showing when a close up second in the historic barrier trial held at Greyville on Sunday.

A four time G1 winning champion, Twice Over has now been represented by 17 first crop winners, and the former European Champion’s good spell of success could well continue further this weekend.
Twice Over’s unbeaten sons Sand And Sea and Do It Again are both runners at Kenilworth this weekend, with G1 Tsogo Sun Gold Medallion hero Sand And Sea set to make his Cape debut on Saturday. His paternal half-brother Do It Again is one of 12 runners set to face the starter in Saturday’s G2 Selangor Cup –one of the premier trials for the G1 Cape Guineas.

The dual G1 Champion Stakes winner has nine two-year-olds on offer at Friday’s CTS Ready To Run Sale Presented by Lanzerac Hotel & Spa, with Twice Over’s draft including a colt whose winning Mark Of Esteem sired dam is a half-sister to a G3 winner in Brazil (Lot 78), a colt whose dam is a half-sister to French G1 winning sire King’s Apostle (Lot 98), and a filly out of a full-sister to July winning champion Trademark (Lot 139).
