Trippi colt lands Langerman

26th Jul 2020

Drakenstein Stud’s resident sire Trippi came up with his 77th stakes winner when his promising two-year-old son Jet Dark won the G3 Beaumont Stud Langerman (1500m) at Kenilworth on Sunday.

Jet Dark

Trained by Justin Snaith, the Drakenstein Stud bred colt made it two wins from just three starts when Jet Dark ran on strongly to claim the 2020 Langerman by half a length.
A smart winner on debut, Jet Dark had finished second to the unbeaten Invincabelle on his previous start and is clearly a colt with a bright future ahead of him.

A three-parts brother to the Trippi sired G1 Mercury Sprint runner up Night Trip and out of the winning Jet Master mare Night Jet, Jet Dark was a R200 000 buy from the 2019 Emperors Palace National Yearling Sale.

The sire of more than 150 stakes horses in total, Trippi has also had a fine season with his three-year-olds this season including G2 World Sports Betting Guineas victor Wild Coast.

South Africa’s Champion Sire of 2015-2016, and broodmare sire of North America’s hugely popular young sire Not This Time, Trippi has two lots on offer at the 2020 National Sale -a colt (Lot 36) out of a stakes placed daughter of champion Rat Burana and a colt (Lot 260) out of G2 winning millionaire Louvre.
