Friday double for Querari

8th Mar 2025

Maine Chance Farms’ inform sire Querari struck twice at Hollywoodbets Greyville on Friday. The son of Oasis Dream went close to having a treble on the day, with Querari mare Mythical Dream running second in the third race at Fairview.
Querari’s first success on Friday came when his lightly raced son Saxon Dynasty won the fourth race at Hollywoodbets Greyville.
One of two winners on the night for Alyson Wright, three-year-old Saxon Dynasty got off the mark at the third time of asking when he stormed home to win the www.galloptv.co.za Maiden Plate (1800m) by over a length and a quarter.
Third at his previous start, Saxon Dynasty was bred by his owner Twilight Moon Equine.
Saxon Dynasty, who is out of the Dynasty mare Sabaha, is a three-parts brother to dual graded stakes winner Ameena.
Querari is also the sire of Super Fast, victorious in Friday’s Gallop Tv Youtube Channel Class 5 (1200m). The Tony Rivalland-trained five-year-old proved far too strong for his field, with the Mxolisi Mbuto-ridden gelding powering away to win by nearly four lengths.
Bred by Maine Chance Farms, Super Fast followed up a runner-up finish last time out with a fluent win on Friday.
The gelding is out of the Lateral mare Sainte Camille.
Currently South Africa’s Leading Sire of 2YOs for 2024-2025, Querari is also the sire of recent G1 Wilgerbosdrift H F Oppenheimer Horse Chestnut Stakes winner Cosmic Speed.
The champion son of Oasis Dream has some very well-bred lots on offer at this week’s Premier Yearling Sale, including a half-brother (Lot 112) to champion Proceed and a full-brother (Lot 134) to G2 winner Gobsmacked.
Querari’s National Yearling Sale draft includes a filly (Lot 215) out of a G3 winning daughter of Trippi, and a half-brother (Lot 243) to Listed East Cape Nursery winner Vision Of Wonder.
