Avontuur Thoroughbred Farm’s resident sire Oratorio has again made headlines, this time in Saudi Arabia, where Oratorio’s son God’s Speed, won the prestigious King Abdulaziz Racetrack Championship Cup over 2000m for trainer Neil Bruss recently.
Bruss described God’s Speed as follows in November last year, ““Another nice horse in the stable is a 5 year old 11 time winner by Oratorio x Guilia named God’s Speed. He won a Listed 1400m for us in his first run since March over 1400m carrying 62kgs and clocked 1.24 and change. A great dirt horse with a good turn of foot.”
Triple G1 winner, and an official champion at both two and three, Oratorio is a proven sire of high class performers and has twice headed the Sires List in Italy.
The son of Danehill, whose first SA crop son Sacred Oration is unbeaten in two outings, has more than 80 stakes horses to his credit including champions Military Attack, Beethoven, Biz The Nurse, Banchee, Viztoria, and Cherry Collect.
Oratorio has one lot on offer at the upcoming Cape Yearling Sale –a half-sister to G3 winner Fantastic Mr Fox out of a three time winning daughter of champion broodmare sire Fort Wood (Lot 122).
The champion also has seven yearlings on the March Yearling Sale, including a colt out of a winning own sister to G3 winner Off The Mark (Lot 18), a filly (out of a four time winning Kahal mare) from the family of leading sires Miswaki and Southern Halo (Lot 52), a filly out of a stakes winning daughter of 2 G1 winners (Lot 128) and a half-sister to Derby winner Elusive Silva (Lot 230).
