Mauritzfontein’s successful resident sire Ideal World had a weekend to remember when the son of Kingmambo was represented by no fewer than four winners this past weekend.

Pride of place in the Ideal World foursome went to the smart filly Louisiana, who picked up her maiden feature race win when successful in the Listed Scarlet Lady at Greyville on Sunday.

The Mauritzfontein bred Louisiana made it win four when downing Banking April by a length in Sunday’s 1800m feature for trainer Brett Crawford and jockey Corne Orffer. Out of the Silvano mare Southern Pine, the four-year-old, who was also runner up in the Listed Jamaica Handicap earlier this year, has now won or placed in ten of her 14 outings.

Other winners for Ideal World this past weekend included Angor Wat, who broke his maiden over 1400m on Friday, the gelded Smart World –who picked up his third win at Greyville on Friday night, and former feature race winner Amazing Strike. The latter, who was making it back to back wins, picked up his sixth career win for owner-breeder Mauritzfontein when downing a smart field over 1400m at Turffontein on Saturday. Amazing Strike pushed his earnings to over the R500 000 mark with Saturday’s success.
